What to do Between Races?

So in mid-February we bought a new camp trailer in Las Cruces, NM.  Made a deal on a Grand Design Reflection fifth-wheel, then overnight decided to get something smaller instead in view of the upcoming travel commitment.  Lorna had liked the 17-foot "Imagine" which is made by the same company.

To make this happen, of course, we had to transfer everything from the old Komfort to the new rig, then haul the Komfort to Durango.  Then back to Las Cruces to take delivery, 2 nights in Deming to check things out and get organized, then a long drive to Stillwater OK to get set for the Texas races.

During the night on the way to Crandall, we realize that the refrigerator is not cooling as it should, and ultimately that it is not working either on gas or electric.  This after living in it for about 3 whole weeks.

Long story short - I managed to get it going again in the camping area at RPM Speedway by bypassing what I think is a thermal fuse of some sort.  All good again.

Until the first night at the WinStar casino on the Oklahoma border, where we find that the water heater is not working.  Checked circuit breakers, fuses, etc to no avail.  Finally located an in-line fuse on the thing, bypassed it with a jumper, and got it working on electric only.   Really?  New trailers are that "junk"?!

Went ahead and spent a few days at the WinStar.

The WinStar turns out to be the Largest Casino in the World.  Really.  600,000 square feet of gaming;  7000 plus machines.  Yep, it's huge.

Complete with a Craps Table that is all-electric, except for the real dice and a real table attendant.  Kinda fun.

So now we sit in an RV park in south Oklahoma City with an 11:00 appointment to have the trailer issues addressed.  That'll be fun.

D & L    broke down again.

UPDATE:    Overnight in the RV park then left trailer 4 hours at McClains RV Superstore repair shop, all for nothing.  They never touched it, even though the appointment had been made days earlier by our dealer in Las Cruces.  Not very impressed with McClains, or south OK City for that matter.

Unfortunately typical of the RV industry in general these days.    Oh well . . .

Comments

  1. 1) COVID to blame for all the problems with the camper. 😷
    2) l didn’t think it was a camper buyers market? Tell Lorna she did good!💰
    3) Thanks for trying out the new craps table. No more getting paid the wrong amounts, although l did hear of a dealer entering the wrong dice numbers causing some real issues. 🤑
    4) Next time, it’s Camping World for the win! $CWH$ Up 630.57% (52 wks) 🚀
