Random Thoughts . . . about nothing in particular
So you've already been barraged by boring pics of RV's and stuff.
Had enough? Tough.
So a couple weeks ago we went to the WinStar RV park for a night, ended up staying 4 nights. If you're ever in the area, especially if you're pulling your home along with you, stop in. First night is free if you get a player's card at the casino. Then $20 per night thereafter. You can stay as long as you want (especially if you go to the casino only once or twice!)
Then if you run out of cash, there's another option.
It's Like Walmart. Except for the lack of traffic, noise and random trash. But RVers across the country know well that most Walmart stores don't seem to mind if you spend a night there on your way through town. It's very handy, actually. Easy, quick shopping. Bathrooms. If you don't like the neighbors, it's OK. You'll never see them again. Yay!
Sometimes a Walmart will have those mean little signs - NO OVERNIGHT PARKING!! Lots of times you see those signs over in the corner next to all the RVs.
But we noticed in OK City (which, by the way, isn't really OK in our book), those little signs were very effective at virtually eliminating RV and truck traffic in the parking lot of their Walmart. Was really almost amazing. Very obedient population, I guess.
Anyway, thought you might not believe us. So we took a pic to prove it.
It's a big lot, and not a single RV that I can see.
Anyway, back at the casino, easy access out front.
So walking thru the parking lot one day we pass this car. Just an ordinary car. A Lexus, as I recall, but I had to go back and take a second look.
The paint color was stunning, IMO! Kind of a bronze color, with a gold metal flake in it. Pics don't do it justice. Just had to go back and take a closer look.
Anyway, next time you're out shopping (for a Lexus), you should consider this paint selection. Maybe it'll cost you a little more, but you'll be glad you did!
Now, back to that trailer. Did you notice it's called an "Imagine"?
As in: "Imagine that on it's 2 month anniversary all of the components are operational." Or maybe: "Did that Grand Design authorized service dealer in Oklahoma City, with a "Priority service appointment" arranged by the selling dealer, totally fail to even attempt to fix our issues, or did we just Imagine that?
So we bought a control panel for the water heater online and will see if that does the trick when we get back to Stillwater. If that fails, thinking about pulling out the brand new Dometic wtr htr, and buying a Suburban model that I have used for 16 years in the Komfort with NO issues.
Note to self: 9-wire Dometic - No worky. 3-wire Suburban - works great! Hmmm.
Thank you Ralph Nader. Or R. N. Jr.?? Oh well.
Hope you all enjoyed the Spring Solstice, and are thus Happy Campers.
Humboldt next weekend, where the weather is looking good!
Later . . .

UPDATE: New Control Board installed - works perfect. Ran the water heater on propane for a few minutes to be sure. Realized the the heat deflector around the upper flame tube gets very hot during operation, not unexpected. But they located the Board just 1/2 inch from the deflector, so it is subject to big heat.
Talked to Dometic. Gal told me that when they recently bought Atwood, Dometic then "designed the NEW" model. So much for modern design capability.
I'll be reworking ours, adding some insulating material and relocating C. B.
But it WORKS!!

Thanks for update. Safe travels. Good seeing you on poker night.
