Crandall Serves up Sweet and Sour

Saturday night, March 6.  63 Modified entries, we were in Heat 5.  Casey started on the pole and managed to fend off Dereck Ramirez to win the race.  We get to go directly to the Main.  Yay

Not only that - but we start 3rd in the A-Main.

Got shuffled back to about 7th in that before contact with another car cuts down our right front tire.  Casey made it to the "Hot Pit" where Wade and I got him in-and-out in under 45 seconds.  NASCAR style, but not NASCAR quick!

So now at the back of the pack (27 cars at this point) and Casey starts working his way back up.  And hits something to cut down another front tire.  He was stuck in the infield after this one, so we're done for the night.

And who goes on to win the 10 Grand?      Dereck Ramirez.

Great racing, though.  Very exciting finish.  Crowd loves it.

So we gather things up, put the car away, and we're done for the night.

Except for that 2-plus hour drive through the heart of Dallas, which gets us back to the WinStar Casino parking lot in Oklahoma on I-35 a little after 2:00 a.m.

Seven hours of wonderful sleep, then trailer-cooked egg McMuffins ala Lorna.

What could be more fun??

Next race Humboldt Kansas the last weekend of March.

Cheers!
