Most of the Race Teams are Hawaiian

Well, I think they must be Hawaiian.  They seem to operate on Hawaiian time.

For example, they typically rise for the day around 7 or 8 o'clock in the morning.  Hawaii time.  That would be just before noon here.  And bedtime normally is around 10:00 to midnight (2 - 4 a.m. here).  At least that's the way it works.

So yesterday we drove from Queen Creek to Yuma for the Cocopah race (Thursday night) as there was no race at the Arizona Speedway (Q.C.)  Windy when we got there but it settled down by race time, with the temperature in the 70's.  We started the fourth Heat in 2nd position, where we also finished.  Got us directly to the Main, where we posted an 11th place finish from the 7th starting slot, right behind Kenny Schrader (also a "Lethal" Chassis).

Casey was disappointed, but it wasn't really a bad performance out of 52 registered modifieds, and the 25 starters in the Main.

Lorna and I got in the truck around 11:30 (real time) last night and I drove back to Queen Creek, where we race again tonight.  Arrived a little after 3:00 a.m.  The 2004 Chevy Silverado truck has a self-driving feature, apparently, which allows me to take short naps along the way.  Complete with a vibration notification system that alerts you when it's time for you to drive again.         Very handy.

For you camping folks:  Yes.  We did break down our camp yesterday morning, pull a 25-foot trailer about 4 hours down the road for a couple of car races, then got back in and repeated in reverse.  Had one meal in the trailer along the way.  Hmmm.

Anyway we race again tonight here in the San Tan Valley of Arizona.  You'll get a report on that in due time.  Whatever that means.

D & L    really on the Road.

  1. Jesus, you must be tired! Makes me tired just reading about it. Race wise, nothing to be disappointed about, IMO. Race schedule? Keep up the good work.

    1. Ok: Races here tonite, Sat & Sun.
22nd,23rd,24th is a 410 sprint car race here with IMCA mods.
      We'll do that.
29th,30th,31st they recently created races at Yuma, and evidently Canyon. But at this point Casey thinks they'll skip that, giving them 2 weeks off to spend time at home.
IMCA race Feb 10-13th at Las Vegas, but Casey has said will skip that in favor of what is expected after that. You might be surprised.
AS ALWAYS: SUBJECT TO CHANGE without prior notice!!

Just remember, sleep is overrated, plenty of time for that when we’re dead. ☠️
